The Hammons Family, Library of Congress Archive: This double CD and booklet set showcases rich traditions including fiddle & banjo tunes, unaccompanied ballads & songs, stories & riddles. The Edden Hammons Collection Volume I: A native Central West Virginian, Edden Hammons' fiddling influenced many musicians far & wide. In 1947, he was recorded by a WVU professor on a homemade recording machine. Melvin Wine: Hannah at the Springhouse: Melvin Wine is was born on April 20, 1909 in Braxton County, West Virginia. Bob wine, his father, was a respected fiddler and is the source of a large part of Melvin's repertoire.
